With all the brands of toothpastes on the market, what's the best one?
As long as it's labeled with the American Dental Association Seal of Acceptance and contains fluoride, the best toothpaste is the one that you will use consistently, twice a day, every day. Base your choice on what you like and what you can afford (more expensive does not mean better quality). Gel, paste, color, flavor are all up to you.
Periodically we prescribe Prevident 5000 (available by prescription only either at our office or at your pharmacy) for orthodontic patients, patients with high incidents of tooth decay or exposed root surfaces or for patients with unique dental challenges.
But for most of our patients, any ADA-accepted brand will do. (And remember to floss every day, too, for best results!)
